The new Head of a rural boarding school had a feeling that the structure of the inherited external relations function was holding the school back and preventing it from competing effectively.
We spent two days at the school assessing the efficacy of the structure which spanned marketing, admissions, development and alumni relations across two sites. We advised on staffing levels and skills gaps, and benchmarked salary levels against sector norms. Our recommended structure was implemented and we were asked to sit on the panel for the senior appointment resulting from the restructure.
